Put tired walls and ceilings back in order
Cracks, removed fittings, dated Artex and uneven repairs can make decorating feel like the easy part of a much larger job. We renew internal surfaces through wall plastering, plasterboarding and new ceiling work. Our experience also covers chimney breasts, media walls and rooms altered during remodelling. Preparation changes from job to job. We may need to deal with old coatings, weak areas, socket alterations or surfaces exposed when fixtures come out. Once prepared correctly, the new plaster gives decorators, fitters and other trades a sound surface for the next stage.

Protect, prepare, plaster and clean down
We start by protecting the room and checking the background. After completing any boarding or preparation, we apply the plaster and work carefully around edges, fittings and openings. We then clean the immediate work area and leave the new surface ready for suitable drying and later decoration. Completed projects include a whole downstairs ceiling programme finished over three days and a living room changed from dated Artex to fresh surfaces within days. We've also fitted in short-notice work when the programme allowed.
Frequently asked questions
Can you plaster over an Artex ceiling?
It may be possible, but we first need to check the coating, background and project requirements. Suspect material may require asbestos testing before disturbance. We explain the suitable preparation once the ceiling has been assessed.
How soon can new plaster be decorated?
New plaster needs to dry properly before paint is applied. Drying time varies with thickness, room temperature, airflow and background conditions. We explain what to look for after the job rather than giving one fixed time for every room.
Do you prepare around sockets and removed fittings?
Yes, preparation can account for altered sockets, removed fixtures and room changes within the agreed scope. Clear access helps us form a neat surface around these details and leave it suitable for the next trade or decoration.
